When I first heard about Perfectly Posh, I can honestly say that I didn’t expect the products to be so good. The brand carries a really great variety of spa-grade products made with natural ingredients, and best of all, they all cost under $25. Sounds too good to be true, right?
When the brand’s co-founder, Ashley Cammerin, offered to send me some sample products, I jumped at the opportunity to see whether or not their products really stood up to their claims. She was even generous enough to send me a second set of samples for me to share with a friend. Each packet contained four sample-sized products, as well as instructions for how to use them as a “mini-facial”. Here’s an overview of everything included in the individual sample bag:
The first step listed was to wash your face with the Gender Bender Chunk. Ashley included a sizeable chunk that’ll definitely be good for multiple uses, and I was thrilled to see that it was a charcoal and carbon based cleanser. It lathered up pretty nicely, and the scent was pleasant and not too heavy. I haven’t actually used bar soap on my face in years, so I was a little concerned about it being stripping or leaving residue on my skin, but my skin felt really nice after I rinsed it off.
Next up was to apply a light layer of the The Stripper, a detoxifying mud mask. I’m going to be honest and say that when I opened the jar, I was not all that eager to apply what looked like frozen chocolate ice cream onto my skin. But I have to say, this was probably one of my favorite products from the entire sample set. After applying a light layer, I almost immediately noticed that my skin was tingling. The feeling intensified as I left the mask on, and I could definitely tell that the mask was penetrating into my pores. Since I have sensitive skin, I rinsed it off after about five minutes, but the instructions say that it can be left on for 10-15 minutes.
After looking in the mirror, I could already see a distinct difference. The mask had opened up my pores and basically sucked everything out of them. The difference was especially noticeable in the easily clogged pores on and around my nose.
After the mask, the instructions said to use the BFF Best Face Forever Exfoliating Face Wash. I was a little nervous about using a scrub right after such an intense mask, but the particles were really fine and gentle. This face wash was my absolute favorite product from the entire set, and I’m seriously considering ordering a full size product for myself. The scent and the feeling of using it is, frankly, incredible. It has a slightly fruity, minty scent and is really cooling on the skin. The cool feeling was really soothing after the mask, and helped to close up all of my pores again.
This was actually the only sample I completely used up, since it was packaged in a single-use straw that you just squeezed the product out of. (This is actually a great way to save space while traveling on short trips.)
Finally, I finished off the facial experience with a moisturizer. She included the Moisturize 911 Caffeinated Face Creme, however I ended up using my own daily moisturizer since I am allergic to the coconut oil that is used in the creme. Still, my sister, who tried all the products with me, said she really liked how creamy the moisturizer was.
My skin felt great for the rest of the day, and I definitely noticed a difference the next morning. My skin had been doing pretty well the past few days, but I’d had a little redness in one area on my forehead, as well as a small blemish. Both were gone the next day.
