Argan Oil is one of those ubiquitous beauty ingredients that’s everywhere nowadays. It’s mixed into shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and more, but a lot of commercial beauty products marketed as “argan oil” products only contain tiny amounts of the oil. I went to Instanatural, an amazingly affordable brand that offers products made with organic and all-natural ingredients, to try out some of their argan oil products. (As a bonus, Instanatural products are made in the U.S. and are not tested on animals, and they also offer free returns and a moneyback guarantee if you don’t like their products.) Keep reading to see what I thought!
I have waist length hair that can be prone to damage, especially at the ends, so hair masks and rich conditioners are a must for me. The Instanatural Argan Oil Hair Mask contains argan oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and amino acids and vitamins to help strengthen your hair and nourish it.
The formula of it is really thick and rich without feeling overly greasy, and it isn’t heavily scented. I suggest using it once a week as a deep conditioning treatment while in the shower. I also recommend using heavier hair treatments only from the midshafts to the ends to prevent the roots from being weighed down. I found that my hair felt a lot softer and smoother, especially at the very ends. You find this mask for sale on their website or on Amazon.
The second product I tried was their argan oil. At nearly twenty dollars for a 4 oz bottle, I found the price a little bit steep until I read the ingredients. Instanatural’s argan oil has only one ingredient: 100% organic virgin argan oil. Unlike other argan oil products, this one isn’t diluted at all and doesn’t contain any cheap filler ingredients. The scent is light and not that noticeable and I love that its such a versatile product. The products comes in a dark glass bottle with a spray nozzle for easy use. I lent it to my sister to try out, so here’s what she thought…
After the positive response to my other mini-column “The Tiffany Test“, where my best friend Tiffany tries out products and offers her opinions, I decided to create one for my sister as well. Unlike me, she has an oily scalp and extremely thick hair that has been chemically treated (read how I dyed her hair here) so her hair responds differently to treatments. While her thick hair needs more than the couple of drops recommended on the bottle, she found that her hair felt a little softer after just two days of use. She also mentioned that the oil seemed to bring out some additional texture in her hair, which I think is a pretty interesting side effect of use.
The third and final product I tried out from Instanatural was their Vitamin C serum. My skin is prone to the occasional bad breakout, but my more pressing problem is usually residual hyperpigmentation from old breakouts. Vitamin C serums help to brighten dark spots and even the skin tone overall, so I was excited to try this one. This serum includes argan oil to moisturize the skin, as well as hyaluronic acid to get rid of dead skin cells. Especially as the weather cools down and the cold winds pick up, my skin needs a little help looking its best, so I add serums like this one to my daily routine.
The serum itself has a milky orange color and smells pretty much like fresh-sqeezed orange juice. It does take a little time absorb fully, but once it does it definitely helps to fully hydrate my skin. I would suggest using it at nighttime, before you go to bed.
I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about these Instanatural products and found my opinions helpful!
I wish you all the best this holiday season, and hope that wherever you are, you are able to spend the winter holidays with family or loved ones. Thanks for reading!
