Winter 2014 Haul: Fashion

Starting in November, I’ve begun stocking up on my favorite winter essentials, and I figured I’d go through all of the things I’ve purchased in a two part haul. The first part is going to be all of the fashion and clothing items, and the second section will have all of the skincare and makeup products. Enjoy!

1I usually don’t go Black Friday shopping, but this year I went to Old Navy to pick up some more winter clothes, since I’d mostly outgrown my old long sleeve shirts. I picked up a couple of items from the clearance section as well, which was an extra 50% off that day.

I ended up paying about $4 for the black workout tank, which was an awesome deal. It’s a strappy racerback style, with a somewhat sheer mesh body and a cinch at the bottom. I also got these pajama pants for $6. They’re made of pretty light, thin material, so I thought they’d be good for milder winter nights and for the spring.

The pajama pants have a really cute coral and white hummingbird print on a dark blue background, and they tie in front with a coral grosgrain ribbon. I also wanted to show the back cutouts of the workout tank, which I think are really flattering. The tank comes with a built in bra, though I would recommend wearing a sports bra underneath if you’re doing a higher impact activity.

I also picked up four basic long sleeve shirts while I was there. The first one I picked out was this waffle-knit thermal top in a berry plum shade. I tend to retreat into neutrals (read: lots of gray and black) during the winter months, so I thought this would be a nice, more colorful layering piece. The second shirt was this black and white striped crew neck. I thought it’d be really cute with a solid colored scarf or under a puffy vest. The third tee I selected was this pale blue v-neck. I like that it has a more relaxed, slouchy fit, and I actually ended up wearing it to go ice skating with friends yesterday. The last shirt is a pretty standard, form-fitting, dark gray v-neck that I’m hoping to wear with some bright scarves. The shirts were all about $4 each, and I bought them all in size small.

DSC_0135I was also looking to buy a few more sweaters this season, since knits have been so big. I ended up finding these two sweaters in the sale section at Banana Republic. The sweater on the left is a lightweight, super soft, cotton-cashmere blend. I love how easy to wear the light gray color and slouchy v-neck fit is, and I can’t wait to wear it out. The dark gray sweater is a thick wool blend, and it’s a little more form fitting. I purchased both sweaters in a size small, for about $10, and $15 respectively. Check out closeups of the sweaters below:

Fuzzy socks are probably my biggest must-have for winter, whether you’re wearing them around the house or inside boots. I was gifted these two pairs by a friend, and wanted to show them to you all just because I love them so much. Both are shea-infused, so they make your feet feel extra pampered. I especially love the polar bear socks, which are so adorable. (Youtuber Fleurdeforce also happens to own the same socks.) Both pairs of socks also have grips on the bottom, which’ll keep me from slipping around on the wood floors in my house.

And finally, the last fashion item I purchased this winter is this pair of black booties. I’ve been wanting a pair of chunky heeled ankle boots for a while, and with the BOGO deal going on in stores, these boots went from their original price of $130 to just $30. The boots are by Clarks, so the leather is really luxurious and high quality, and they’re super comfortable. I’ve been wearing them around the house to break them in a little bit, and they’re probably my new favorite shoes.

bootsI hope you’ve enjoyed this fashion haul! If you did, keep your eyes out for my Winter 2014 beauty haul, which is coming very soon! 2014 has been a great first year for this blog, and I am excited to bring you even more content in 2015. Happy New Year!
